How do I refill my pet’s prescription?
To refill a prescription:

For In-House Refill: Call us at 865-248-5777 to leave a message on our prescription refill line. Request on our app, text us, through the app chat, or ask during your visit.

For home delivery through AHAH pharmacy: Use our online portal, call us, text us, through app chat, or ask during your visit.

For local pharmacies: We will contact the local pharmacy for anything that we do not carry in-house. Then, we will let you know once contact is made. The local pharmacy will let you know once the medication is filled.

For other pharmacies: Request a written prescription if needed, and submit it to your preferred provider.
What is the veterinary home delivery service?
Our home delivery service is a convenient way to get your pet’s medications without leaving your home. Benefits include:

Can I still use my preferred pharmacy?
Yes, absolutely! If you prefer to use a pharmacy outside of our network, we are happy to provide a written prescription. You can take this to any pharmacy of your choice or submit it to an online pharmacy you trust.
Why are you no longer working with third-party online pharmacies?
While some online pharmacies may be convenient, we’ve seen instances of:

To protect your pet’s health, we’ve chosen to work only with our trusted sources.
How can I get a written prescription?
It’s easy! If you’d like to use another pharmacy, just let us know. We’ll provide a written prescription during your visit or you can pick one up to get to your pharmacy of choice. Please know that due to federal regulations and HIPAA laws, we are unable to email written prescriptions.
Will this change affect prescription costs?
The costs of medications may vary depending on your chosen pharmacy. We pride ourselves in offering competitive pricing for our in-house pharmacy and our home delivery service. We encourage you to compare local pharmacy pricing to find the option that works best for your budget.
What if I have an emergency and need medications quickly?
For urgent needs, we recommend contacting us directly. Although we require 24 business hours to refill a prescription so that our team can effectively review your pet’s records and continue to service the patients in the hospital, we will do our best to try to fulfill your request so that your pet’s medical needs are not neglected. However, we do thank you for your patience if this occurs.
Can I still use online pharmacies like Chewy or 1-800-PetMeds?
Yes, you can use any pharmacy you trust. If you choose an online pharmacy, we’ll provide a written prescription available for pickup at the hospital so that you can personally submit to the pharmacy of your choice. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the quality or authenticity of medications obtained from third-party online sources.
